Sports logistics at a top tennis tournament in Styria
DB Schenker as official logistics partner of the Austria vs. Slovakia Davis Cup match
From 5 to 7 March 2010 Bad Gleichenberg in Styria iss the venue of a top-class tennis event, the Davis Cup match between Austria and Slovakia, at which Austria hopes to make its way back into the top international echelons.
As official logistics partner for the event, DB Schenker and the DB SCHENKERsportsevents team, which has vast experience in major sporting occasions, has the job of ensuring that all of the materials and equipment are in the right place at the right time.
Under the direction of the DB Schenker office in Graz it has among other things to transport parts of the grandstand and indoor flooring to Bad Gleichenberg.
“The 2,500-capacity hall in Bad Gleichenberg is being adapted for the Davis Cup to ensure that the athletes can play in ideal conditions and also that the spectators will be able to enjoy an unforgettable experience. To make sure that nothing is left to chance, we are cooperating with DB Schenker, an ultra-professional logistics service provider whom we can rely on to get all of the equipment and materials to the site on time,” says Edwin Weindorfer, managing director of the elmotion Management agency, which is organising the Davis Cup in cooperation with the Austrian Tennis Federation.
